There are all kinds of festivals and special events happening year round. In the spring there is the annual Spring Fest which includes the "Great
Smokies Arts and Crafts Easter Show", "Rib Fest", the " Wild Flower Pilgrimage", the "Gatlinburg Scottish Festival and Games", and the "Gatlinburg
Fine Arts Festival".

The summer fun begins with America's First 4th of July Parade that is held annually at one minute after midnight on July 3rd. That night is a fireworks
extravaganza which can be enjoyed all over the city. Also in July is the annual Gatlinburg Craftsman Fair. During August and September you will enjoy
the Gatlinburg Heritage on Display.

Fall is our most popular time of the year. Folks come in from all over the country to marvel at the natural beauty of our breathtaking mountain
paradise. Hayrides are available throughout the city in the fall. From the middle of September til the end of October you will love the Smoky Mountain
Harvest Festival. The whole month of October we are proud to have Craftsman from all over the south in town for our Gatlinburg Craftsman Fall Fair.

Starting in November we welcome back Winterfest! The November events include the Chili Cook-off, the Festival of Trees, and the Great Smoky
Mountains Arts and Crafts Thanksgiving Show.

December brings The Great Smokies Arts and Crafts Christmas Show, with exhibits from local and national craftsman. We have a year ending
spectacular with the Gatlinburg New Year's Eve Ball Drop and Fireworks Show that if you have never experienced you definitely want to make plans
now.

Gatlinburg is a walking community, especially along the Downtown Parkway, which runs from one end of town to the other with hundreds of things to
see and do in between. There are a surplus of restaurants with local flavor and traditions or popular favorites like Applebee's and the Hard Rock
Café. The river walk along River Road echoes the relaxing sounds of the Little Pigeon River, with gazebos and benches along the walkway.

Our charming mountain town is a year round destination for families who want a safe and beautiful environment to create family memories, couples
who just want to re-kindle that romance or friends for a weekend of outdoor adventure in one of the most beautiful places in all the world.

Every spring brings the opening of Dolly Parton's own personal playground, Dollywood, with thrilling rollercoaster's, exciting musical shows, master
craftsman, and plenty of rides for all ages! If it gets to hot, cool off and jump into Dolly's own waterpark, Splash Country! Enjoy waterfalls, waterslides,
wave pools, and white water rapids. Dollywood's Christmas Festival also has over 3 million lights in conjunction with Winterfest.

Pigeon Forge Tennessee was a quiet little mountain town until the opening of the Great Smoky National Park in 1934. The city has steadily grown
since the dedication of The Great Smoky Mountains National Park in 1940 and is now one of the most visited vacation spots in the southeastern
United States. Every time you visit Pigeon Forge it's like the first time because there is always something new.

Every month represents new and exciting events and festivals. Along with the Winterfest Celebration, January also offers it's annual Wilderness
Wildlife Week, which is recognized as one of the nations leading conservative and educational events. It combines workshops and lectures with
daily hikes on the best trails in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

February has the annual Smoky Mountains Storytelling Festival, which is the place to catch the nation's greatest performers on stage, telling stories,
performing in concert, and participating in interactive workshops.

The Saddle Up! Celebration is three days of family fun, which includes Western Music, poetry, and culture performed by multi-talented cowboys and
entertainers. Do not miss the incredible Western Memorabilia Show!

Valentine's Day in the Smokies is one of the busiest Holidays of the year. Only Las Vegas has more wedding ceremonies. Therefore, if you want to
bring your sweetheart for a romantic getaway, plan early before the best romantic cabins are gone.

March now has three annual events in Pigeon Forge alone. The first is SpringFest, which kicks off three months of spring-themed events, which are
as colorful as the wildflowers that blanket the Smokies each spring.

A Mountain Quiltfest joins renowned quilt instructors from around the country for classes and lectures. A Mountain Quiltfest is the reigning Southeast
Tourism Society Festival of the Year.

String Time in the Smokies is a hands-on study in Banjo, Mandolin, Fiddle, Mountain Dulcimer, and Guitar. Instruction, accommodations and meals
are included in registration fees.

April kicks off the grand opening of Dollywood, with the annual Dolly Parade. Be on the parkway and enjoy the floats and festivities as Dolly Parton
rides as the Grand Marshal.

May kicks off the summer on Memorial Day Weekend with "Rhythm in the Hills", a three day concert extravaganza with some of today's hottest country
stars that really brings these mountains to life!

July is a bang with the Annual Patriot Festival. Bring the whole family to Patriot Park for a day of fun, food, and fireworks! You will find games for the
kids, patriotic concerts and a variety of special performers.

August brings the Annual Celebrate Freedom Festival, a week long Patriotic event which will include speaker forums, canteen dances, parades,
"Celebrate Freedom! ,The Musical", and will end with a spectacular fireworks display. EMT's Veterans, military personnel, firefighters, police officers,
and families are welcome! September and October is the Annual Smoky Mountains Harvest Festival. This is when the weather is perfect and the
activities are endless. Displays are set up all over town at stores and restaurants.

November kickoffs Winterfest all around the county with over 5 million Christmas lights illuminating the city streets, storefronts, and landscapes.
There is also the "Trolley Tour of Lights" where you can relax in climate controlled trolleys as hostesses serve as guides as the trolley's pass the
city's landmarks and light displays.

December offers the "World's Largest Outlet Extravaganza". Mega Savings at over 200 name brand outlets is a great way to get started on your gift
search!
